Please do not include commercially sensitive vessel data, financial details or confidential documents in the form. For anything of that nature, contact us first and we will agree an appropriate channel — and, where suitable, a mutual NDA.
We do not operate user accounts, run advertising, sell data, build advertising profiles, or use this website to collect special categories of personal data (health, biometric, political, religious or similar).

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and which countries they come from. This tells us whether our published work is reaching shipowners, brokers and yards — nothing more.
These cookies are blocked by default. When you first arrive, Google Consent Mode is set to denied for analytics storage. Nothing is measured unless you press Accept on the cookie banner. We have also enabled IP anonymisation, so your IP address is truncated before it is stored.

We are established in Türkiye. Netlify and Google are established in the United States and may process data on servers outside Türkiye and outside the European Economic Area.
For transfers from the EEA and UK, these providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For transfers under KVKK, we rely on your explicit consent for analytics data, and on the necessity of the transfer for the performance or conclusion of a contract in the case of enquiry data.

Whatever your location, you may exercise the following rights in respect of your personal data. Under GDPR these arise from Articles 15–22; under KVKK, from Article 11.
Write to info@akkanmaritime.com with the subject line Data Request. Tell us which right you are exercising and give us enough information to find your records. We respond within 30 days — the deadline under both KVKK Art. 13 and GDPR Art. 12. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly excessive or repetitive.
We would rather you came to us first — most issues are resolved faster that way.
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to enquiry data is limited to authorised personnel who need it to respond. We apply the same confidentiality discipline to website enquiries that we apply to client project files.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the competent authority and, where required, you directly, within the timeframes set by applicable law.
This is a business-to-business website addressed to shipowners, operators, shipyards, investors and maritime professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as our services, tools or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be flagged on the site. We recommend reviewing this page when you next make contact with us.
